After watching the trailer the initial time I thougth that this would be a comedy. This movie has assured itself a location in my comic-movie collection. Kick-Ass is NOT a children's movie and need to be avoided by anyoneunder the age of 15-16. The acting is really excellent. I wasn't planning on going simply because the concept failed to interest me.

Nicholas Cage and She did a wonderful job working together and really created the movie what it was. Besides a few isolated scenes, Kick-Ass barely ever kicks ass. We are supposed to talk about the believability of such heroes like Superman or Batman, aren't we. A raft of brutal street thugs who are reality based and nottoo over the best. It's extremely nicely written and directed (by Matthew Vaughn, of 'LAYER CAKE' and 'STARDUST' fame) and this is by far his greatest function but. And I got that in bucket loads.
